If your Team Members need help with any aspect of their employment (benefits, invoices, expenses, contracts, etc.), Oyster’s support staff is readily available.
For Employee and Scale packages, you can easily add on country-tailored benefits for your Team Members. These pre-created packages include healthcare, life insurance, allowances, pension, and more, based on the country.
The Oyster subscription fee is charged per Team Member (or contractor) on a monthly basis. It includes all the services provided to you through the Oyster platform including onboarding your Team Members, global payroll administration, and ongoing management and compliance for your global team.
No, Oyster does not charge any setup or cancellation fees. However, Oyster requires a refundable security deposit to initiate the engagement.
Yes, we do. Once the number of full-time Team Members you engage through Oyster exceeds five, you’ll be eligible for Oyster Scale. You will be able to pre-purchase a number of seats at a reduced rate.
Oyster charges a fee for currency conversions but the fee applies only if you pay us in a currency different from the contract currency. Click here to learn more.
At the moment, we only accept payments in USD, EUR, or GBP (CAD coming soon). You can pay us by direct debit if you have a bank account in the US, Eurozone, or the UK.
No, you can use Oyster to engage as many global candidates as you need. The Oyster subscription fee is charged per active Team Member, per month.
It’s totally free to create an account, explore the platform, and access its global HR tools and resources! The Oyster fee will only kick in once you’ve engaged a contractor or Team Member.
If you’re a certified non-profit or B corporation, you can use Oyster to hire your first full-time Team Member free for a year. More details can be found here. You can also use Oyster for free if you are hiring refugees in countries where Oyster has direct entities. More details can be found here.

Oyster accepts both direct debits (ACH for USD, BACS for GBP, and SEPA for EUR) and wire transfers as payment methods. You can easily set up direct debit or auto-withdrawal and pay in one click through the platform.

When you hire full-time Team Members, we understand the goal is to work with them for years, not months. With the annual subscription, you can save 1200 USD on Oyster fees for each Team Member. (Now that’s a lot of savings!)
Here’s how it works: When you submit a hire request for a new Team Member, you’ll see the annualized Oyster fee charged on your first deposit invoice. The 11 subsequent invoices will not include any Oyster fees. When it’s time to renew your subscription, you’ll see the annual cost again on your 12th invoice for that Team Member.
Note: Annual subscription is not available for contractors.
