In Panama, remote work is regulated and only available if both the employer and employee sign a written contract outlining: the type of remote work—complete or partial (partial being defined as at least one day in the office); guidelines for the employee's return to the workplace; the notice period within which said return must be notified; working time and the obligation or not to work overtime; and coverage of expenses, such as electricity, equipment, or other necessities if any—except in the case of emergencies.
