How does it work?

When you sign up for Oyster Research Group, we’ll ask you a few questions. Your answers will help make sure you get invited to research that’s relevant to you. We’ll invite you to research via email and include all the details so you can decide if you’d like to take part.

You can always say no to an invite and you can unsubscribe at any time.

What kind of research can I take part in?

You can opt-in to take part in the types of research you'd feel more comfortable helping us with. Some of the studies we do at Oyster are listed below:

  • User interviews: You have a 1 on 1 chat with members of the Product team. Usually, you talk about your experience with Oyster and any challenges you might be facing.
  • Surveys: We regularly send out short surveys to measure the user experience of our products but also gather information that helps us make decisions about the future of our product.
  • Usability tests: Usability tests can be moderated or unmoderated. You will be asked to complete a number of tasks while talking out aloud about the actions you're taking and the thoughts you are experiencing. There are no right or wrong answers - it's the design we're testing, not you.

What happens after I sign up?When we have a research study available that you’re a good match for, we’ll send you the full details via email. From there, you can decide if you want to participate by filling out the initial questionnaire.

Do I have to live in a certain country to participate?

No, we conduct research with users all over the world. You should, however, be comfortable speaking in English.

Do I have to be 18 or over to participate?

Yes, you must be 18 or over to participate in our research studies.

How do I unsubscribe?

What will you do with my personal information?

The information you provide will only be used to pair you with suitable research studies and won't be shared with or sold to external parties. Your name and identifiable information will be removed from your data.
